What's a Sarasvati?

"Mister, we ARE the wierdos..."

I thought the other day, I have a page, I have people I talk to, but none of them know much about me...not that this page will help much, but it does have a little.
I took the name "Sarasvati" originally from a book of moon goddesses, as I am a creature of the moon myself. Only later did I learn the rest of it:
Sarasvati, Apparently called either Besant Panchami or (more rarely) Dawat Puja (worship of the inkstand)... In Bengal pens, ink, and account books are worshiped to honor the Goddess Sarasvati, Goddess of Learning. Though celebrated throughout the country, she is most celebrated by school children and university students. Of course Sarasvati is also a river Goddess, who governs the flow of water and thoughts. She is a great flood of energy. Her image is that of the Moon Goddess, a beautiful woman dressed in white, with the crescent moon upon her forehead, like Diana in Europe. Wisdom and eloquence are her characteristics. Barbara Walker... translates her name as "Flowing One." She says Sarasvati "was also the Queen of Heaven assimilated to Brahmanism as Brahma's wife," but we must remember that she really "predated the cult of Brahma," according to Walker, and "invented all the arts of civilization: music, letters, mathematics, calendars, magic, the Vedas, and all other branches of learning." ...She is sometimes also identified as Vach, Goddess of Speech, who caused all words to come into being.

A most appropriate choosing I later discovered...
I adore music, mostly Scottish/Irish/Celtic. I have soundtracks to my favorite movies, a wide range-- Anastasia to Blade. Other than that I love Gaelic Storm, Natalie Imbruglia, and Annie Lennox. Also Kansas and Martin Page round out my collection.

My second passion is books. I will read anything and I mean that literally. Most of my own collection is a mix of sci-fi and horror. As for favorite authors, Jonathan Nasaw and Laurell Hamilton. Who are these people you ask? Nasaw wrote World On Blood and Shadows, and Hamilton has done the Anita Blake series (Burnt Offerings and Blue Moon, etc.) Many other authors, as well, but I am sure you would rather I went on.
Some things about my way of thinking. I am a very here-and-now type of person. I grasp the sciences best, which is why I tend to focus on them on these pages. I am as psi as a brick and don't catch onto those concepts as quickly. This is not to say I don't believe in things that can't be explained heck, I'm here, aren't I? but that I don't understand them well. I try not to judge people on first impressions, either. I can't learn anything about another from the first, IMO. Some say it makes me a softy, so be it, I give chances, if that makes a softy, well, then I guess I am :)
I typically have a very phlegmatic attitude. It's happened, so be it... what's next? Accepting, is another term for it. Alot of times I find what pisses most people off, just makes me laugh or shrug. I don't take things personally, even though I know alot of things are intended that way. It's not worth it to me :) I am a patient person, most of the time... except in dealing with my computer *L*. I try to be a neutral party.

I decided to create this page when I began to meet others like myself, only on-line, true, but I figured that was pretty good, considering I didn't know any others IRL at that time. Sanguinarius's page especially helped me out, *Note to Sangi: THANK YOU!!!* her page helped me come to terms with myself even more and make me feel less alone. Sappy, yes, but true...

That's pretty much me, you are not going to get me to tell you where I live, so don't ask:)
